Technical Training Modules for Youth
Our hands-on training curriculum turns beginners into skilled agricultural practitioners. We equip our participants with technical competencies across three major farming sectors:
1. Crop Production & Soil Stewardship
- Bio-Security & Pest Control: Identifying local crop diseases and applying organic, non-toxic management solutions.
- Land Preparation: Soil testing, building raised beds, composting, and implementing optimal crop rotation cycles.
- Nursery Management: Seed selection, germination techniques, and delicate transplanting methods for high-yield greens and fruits.
2. Advanced Livestock Management
- Poultry & Waterfowl Husbandry: Managing brooder environments, specialized feed formulation, and daily egg collection protocols.
- Piggery Care & Hygiene: Designing clean livestock housing, managing breeding cycles, and executing strict sanitation routines.
- Biosecurity Barriers: Implementing preventative safety measures to safeguard livestock health against local pathogens.
3. Aquaculture & Pond Engineering
- Pond Construction & Maintenance: Siting, digging, and lining freshwater ponds with optimized water drainage networks.
- Water Quality Monitoring: Testing and managing pH levels, oxygen saturation, and temperature for healthy fish growth.
- Crab & Fish Husbandry: Fingerling stocking densities, sustainable feeding schedules, and safe harvesting techniques for mud crabs and freshwater fish.

Addressing chronic unemployment through integrated farming
NCDC faces a significant challenge with chronic youth unemployment, particularly among urban and peri-urban populations. Limited formal job opportunities leave thousands of young people without reliable pathways to financial security.
Mangroves Relax Farming Cooperative Society actively combats this crisis by using sustainable agriculture as a vehicle for immediate economic empowerment. Instead of relying on traditional, unpredictable job markets, we transform agriculture into a commercial, self-sustaining livelihood. By equipping youth with practical skills in high-demand sectors like livestock husbandry, aquaculture, and intensive crop cultivation, we turn underutilized land into profitable enterprises that generate immediate household income and enhance regional food security.
Our Transition Pathway: Pre-Employment Induction
We believe that career development requires more than training alone; it must connect directly to guaranteed economic opportunity. To bridge the gap between education and youth employment, every graduate of our training modules transitions into our formal Pre-Employment Induction Program.
Upon successful completion of their training, individual youth enter into a structured Pre-Employment Agreement directly with the cooperative. This binding framework ensures a smooth, secure transition into the agricultural workforce:
Guaranteed Market Access: The cooperative provides the infrastructure, land access, and initial inputs (seeds, fingerlings, or livestock chicks).
Income Generation Agreements: Youth operate under a clear production-and-revenue-sharing model, guaranteeing they are paid fairly for the crops, livestock, or seafood they raise.
Professional Accountability: The agreement outlines clear performance standards, biosecurity protocols, and collaborative duties, instilling workplace discipline and corporate farm management skills.
Pathways to Enterprise: This structured phase acts as a stepping stone. Youth can either secure long-term employment within the cooperative's expanding commercial operations or transition into managing their own cooperative-backed smallholder plots.
Through this contractual commitment, we ensure that no youth is left trained but idle. We provide a direct, guaranteed path out of unemployment and into active, income-generating community leadership.
